Navigating a Season of Transition - Fall Reflections

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, early September is considered to be a time of transition as we move from the expansive, outward energy of summer towards the more inward, conserving energy of autumn. For many of us, the flurry of back-to-school preparations, late summer travel and activity can leave us feeling drained and flat energetically.

For many of us, it is important to recognize that we often times need to reprioritize our energy and well-being as we move into fall.

Additionally, during these times of transition, I also like to pause, sit down with my planner, and decide on my priorities for fall. What do I want to accomplish in my personal life and business, where do I want to spend my time, and what activities would fill my cup?

This is how we intentionally create lives of meaning, without feeling like we’re simply reacting to the world around us. Taking control of time by identifying our priorities and structuring our lives accordingly allows us to make progress towards our goals without feeling overwhelmed. And this process can remind us of what we value, and how we can better use our time and energy.

As one season comes to a close and a new one is about to begin, this is a perfect time to take stock of our lives, and make a plan for the next season.

To assist you in your reflections, I’ve created a free Fall Seasonal Reflection PDF with some journal prompts that is available here. I hope you find this useful!

May your fall season ahead be filled with meaningful moments of connection, small joys and peaceful pauses.

Blessings!
~Jennifer
